An Algerian man who allegedly slashed three Somali men with a blade inside the Safi barracks has been remanded in custody.

Avadi Madour, 20, had allegedly cut the men across their face in an argument on Tuesday at about 5.30 p.m.

When he appeared before Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera he pleaded not guilty to seriously injuring the men, illegally carrying a weapon, breaching the peace, breaching the conditions of a previous release and relapsing.

Police Inspectors Arthur Mercieca and Carlos Cordina prosecuted.
