Stray dogs from the SPCA leave their paw prints on PINK's fashion pages, showing glamorous girls and their less groomed friends can go hand in hand.

Despite the fact that it involved more than one model – eight dogs, each accompanied by a helper – the shoot in the garden of the Hotel Phoenicia in Valletta ran surprisingly smoothly.

It was a glorious, sunny day and, unlike divas, the dogs took direction well and were happy to don the bright block colours that were the theme of the shoot.

Luckily also, the PINK ShowStopper team is made of animal lovers, from photographer Alexandra Pace, to the stylists Fiona Galea Debono and Marisa Grima, the make-up artist Shasha and hairstylist Lara Steer.

Even Madeleine, the model, did not feel intimidated, or upstaged by the stray dogs, which almost got adopted by the team. But the truth is these patient and obedient animals, each with a character of their own, are still looking for a home...
