Inspectra, a Maltese owned company operating from a factory at Marsa Industrial Estate, today inaugurated a validated Class 100,000 clean-room facility within its own premises.

The facility was inaugurated by Finance Ministry Tonio Fenech.

Inspectra is the first company in Malta to offer the clean-room facility on an outsourced pay-per-use basis to third parties.

The facility totalled an investment of €250,000, partly funded through the European Regional and Development Fund.

Inspectra, launched with just 10 workers in 2005, is also embarking on a plan to add more workers to its existing workforce of 220, in view of the different skill sets required to operate the clean room and calibration services.

The company also recently achieved an ISO17025 standard for the accreditation of non-automatic weighing scales.

Mr Fenech praised the company for its investment and said that Inspectra had benefitted indirectly from the assistance the government had given other companies during the recession since it inspected their products.
