Stray dogs hit the catwalk in the April issue of Pink magazine, which is free with tomorrow’s edition of The Times.
Pink offers a good dose of fashion at a time when new collections, brands and trends are launched to mark the birth of another season.
The animals from the SPCA obediently accompanied the model in this month’s photo shoot to raise awareness of their need for a happy home and show how they can be a glamour girl’s best friend.
Pullouts and additional shoots of Miss Sixty and Dorothy Perkins, plus accessory and trend tips, offer readers a full-blown fashion benchmark to guide them through the months ahead.
Despite the focus on women’s fashion, the issue is also slightly slanted towards men. It details the Boyzillian and other intimate hair removal issues for men.
It also reveals that eating disorders do not only affect females. It features first-hand accounts of anorexia and bulimia in boys and the problems they face in getting their condition recognised and treated for what it is. Of the 33 new cases an expert in eating disorders saw last year, four were men and their specific issues are highlighted in the FeedBack feature.
On an equally dramatic note, Pink reveals that cyber-bullying occurs not only between students and speaks to a head teacher who suffered this technological form of torment.
Meanwhile, a mother who breastfed her children until the age of five insists the practice is normal in contrast to those who find it odd and revolting.
Published by Allied Newspapers Ltd and printed by Progress Press, Pink is produced by Mediamaker. Its executive editor is Fiona Galea Debono and it is designed by Helen Cassar Torreggiani and Joseph Schembri.
