The Malta FA Protests' Board has ruled against Floriana after the latter filed a protest against the result of their league match against Marsaxlokk which ended 1-1.

Floriana alleged that the signatures on the Marsaxlokk teamsheet were irregular and called on the Protests' Board to award them a victory.

While noting that the mentioned signatures appeared to be irregular, the members of the Protests' Board have reportedly deemed that the likely infringement didn't warrant a change of the match result as there was nothing in the MFA competition regulations that indicated otherwise.

However, the Protests Board has recommended that further investigations take place to verify the authenticity of the signatures on the Marsaxlokk teamsheet in Saturday's game against Floriana. Second-placed Floriana and Marsaxlokk, currently third, are both challenging for the runners-up spot and qualification to the Europa League.
