Nine migrants hospitalised on arrival
Nine migrants – two woman and seven men – were hospitalised upon their arrival in Malta this morning, suffering accute dehydration and exhaustion.
They were among a group of 116 migrants rescued by an AFM patrol boat south west of Malta.
A young woman was found dead on the migrants’ boat.
The Health Department said other migrants were assisted as soon as they arrived at Haywharf on board the patrol boat.
The Health Ministry thanked all those involved in the humanitarian mission, saving many people whose life was at risk.

Weren't these illegal immigrants picked up closer to Lampedusa than Malta?
So .. why should we get them to our crowded island instead?
Is Italy supporting us so much on other matters that we fear of losing what we have if we demand correctness?
Or is it a matter of bowing our head to arrogance for fear of losing our huge SAR area?
