A postgraduate symposium on ‘Cultural Translations’ will be held at the University’s Valletta campus on Friday and Saturday.

Chantal Cornut-Gentille D’Arcy from the University of Zaragoza, Spain, will talk about ‘Comedy as a Seductive Cultural Mediator of Regional, National and Linguistic Pluralism in a Borderless Europe: The Case of L’Auberge Espagnole’; James Corby from the University of Malta will talk on ‘Originary Translation in Cormac McCarthy’s The Road’; while Chris Weedon from the University of Cardiff will be talking about ‘Homeland and Diaspora: Strategies for Survival in the Novels of Nadeem Aslam’.

There will also be 40 panel presentations by delegates from various countries.
