A Selkirk Rex cat, a breed that originated in the US in 1987 and was introduced to Malta only five months ago, won the best overall cat in show at the ninth Tica International Cat Show held by the Malta Cat Club.

Tica double grand champion, In Petos Lucky, is a golden chinchilla short-haired curly teddy bear lookalike with magnificent green eyes and a wonderful curly coat. In Petos Lucky, owned by Marvic Attard Gialanzè, is an import from Germany and is now at Precioushearts Cattery.

The title of best kitten went to Jouelle Coco Chanel, a Tortie female Persian owned by Gertrude Francica. QGCA Bellabonny E- Lollipop, a lilac Burmese owned by Kate Mansfield Nolan and Vikki Parsons was declared best alter and the best household pet was RW Mr Mittens, a red tabby and white SH owned by Patricia Galea Kent.
