EU President in Malta next Wednesday
The President of the European Council, Herman van Rompuy will be having official talks with Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi next Wednesday.
Mr Van Rompuy’s visit comes amid increasing migration pressure on Malta and the Commission’s reluctance to activate the Temporary Protection Directive obliging the other member states to share Malta’s burden.
However, sources close to the Council said that Mr Van Rompuy’s visit is not a response to Malta’s current situation with ‘Libyan’ migrants.
During his few hours in Malta, Mr Van Rompuy will be also paying a courtesy visit to President George Abela.
Mr van Rompuy was also in Malta in January last year.

Well, the good news for Mr Van Rompuy is that he won't need to go to a currency exchange. :)

Dear Mr Herman, if as stated your visit to Malta does not include at least some talk about the unwanted immigrants that are invading our shores, you might as well stay in your cosy office in Strasbourg and forget all the bother to come here just for the show! Thanks just the same!

And how many immigrants / refugees is he going to take to his home country?

This is the guy that did not know that Malta was in the Euro zone. Another waste of time. The press wrote about his mistake. He made a fool of himself. Lets face the truth, the EU is all about holidays, spending and parties. Let's not forget the state dinners with your tax. I voted " yes" because it like being in Ibiza, one big party. :)

He probably had to look at the map to find out where Malta is. He is not the EU president anyway, he is president of the council. Another post created by the EU that serves no purpose and costs the taxpayers a fortune. Nobody in Europe knows who this man is and what he does.
