All is set for this year’s Crosscraft Spring Regatta, an event organised by Birżebbuġa Sailing Club which qualifies as one of ranking events of the Malta Sailing Federation.
Sailors will battle it out on and around the waters of Birżebbuġa with six planned races spread over two days, Saturday and Sunday.
The regatta is open to sailors in the following classes: Optimist Class (open, cadet, novice and girls over-all divisions); Laser Class (4.7, radial and standard); RS Feva open class and any other type of class boat with a valid Portsmouth Yardstick.
A minimum of three boats is required to form a class.
The first race on Saturday is scheduled to start at noon and the one on Sunday at 11 a.m.
Prizes will be given to the top three in each class during a pre-sentation ceremony, to be held at the Birżebbuġa clubhouse after the last race on Sunday.
For the first time, the regatta will include the RS Feva Class, the latest double-handed boat to hit the Maltese dinghy sailing scene.
