Parts of Attard to spend night without power
Parts of Attard may spend the night without power due to a cable fault, Enemalta said.
The corporation said that its technicians are on site to locate the fault and start repairs.
It said there is no alternate supply to the locality affected and power may not be restored before early tomorrow morning.
It apologised for the interruption

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNBBBBBBBBBBBBB:---- I do not know why all this fuss about power cuts! In the 80's I used to be afraid of staying a week without Electricity, that was terrible. Today i am afraid of light and consequent Bills! Mela no fuss let there be darkness!!!!!

....and Enemalta's chief officers and top management keep getting paid thousands every week and getting 12% to 15% bonus yearly. The following question begs itself an answer... what are these people getting such heftny bonuses for ?

I confirm your statement Mr. Fenech.
What worries me is that at night, you are unaware of the power outage and unable to trip the Circuit Breaker - with the result that when power is restored, who knows what jolt all the home appliances get!

For once, it's the other part of Attard...
Still, I explained to my eight-year-old son that in my native Netherlands, there used to be overhead power lines in some rural areas when I was his age, but that's a long time ago. Now it helps that in the Netherlands you can easily dig a trench in the soft soil, but Malta is so densely populated that leaving power cables overhead is a major liability.

The area without electricity last night does not seem to have made the news at all. Certainly it was out for a short period in San Gwann and for a longer period in Qawra area.

Not only Marsascala, but also in Naxxar, Mosta and Attard there was no electricity last night and from what I could see all Malta was w.o. electric power.
