Dyson Falzon is out of Ħamrun Spartans’ fourth and final league meeting with Valletta this season after he received a one-match ban yesterday.
News that Falzon will play no part in tomorrow’s match is likely to be greeted with relief by the Valletta fans as the winger, who joined the Spartans on a short-term loan from the Citizens in January, was on target in each of his previous two outings against the league leaders.
Falzon’s goals denied Valletta the three points in their last two encounters with the Spartans as both games ended 1-1. The former Mosta player has been sanctioned after collecting a fourth yellow card last weekend.
Birkirkara will be without Andrei Agius for their must-win match against Tarxien on Sunday.
The Malta defender has been suspended for one game after his sending-off in the second half of the Stripes’ 5-1 rout to Floriana.
Qormi’s defensive crisis took a turn for the worse yesterday after Kang Hojung was handed a one-match ban.
The flank defender will skip Qormi’s relegation clash with Vittoriosa on Saturday, joining Jason Vandelannoite on the side-lines as the Belgian must serve the second of a two-match ban.
The other Premier League player suspended yesterday was Hibs defender Jonathan Pearson.
