Ira Losco and her band will be performing a full-blown concert for children from schools all over Malta at the MFCC, Ta Qali on Friday 6th May 2011. The Concert entitled “Music 4 Life” has been Ira Losco’s dream project ever since she embarked on her voluntary anti-bullying school tour back in 2002.

Lately, Ira Losco participated in talks in schools, which are being organized to promote friendships and challenges which teens might face – with different types of bullying becoming a very common obstacle. She encouraged students not to accept any such actions, and to use their talents to show their strengths and abilities.

“Music 4 Life” will be a professional one hour long concert, where students will also have the opportunity to see what goes on before a Live concert on a big screen.

“ There are many aspects of this event I wanted to include.” said Ira Losco. “Primarily to promote an anti bullying message and bring different children from different schools under the same roof. Secondly I wanted to emphasize the importance of Live music as well as offer the chance to some children to play live in front of a big audience whilst experiencing a professional stage set up . Last but not least to outline the importance of solidarity with the ones in need. In this case, children diagnosed with cancer, where donations will be pledged to Puttinu Cares.” she added.

All Forms 2 and 3s in state, private and church schools have been invited to join in this initiative to draw children closer to music. Preparations are in full swing and a search for a band, singer and/or musician who will be performing just before Ira takes the stage, has commenced. All students who wish to participate in this selection should forward a video clip or mp3 to their Head of School, who will in turn nominate them and send the material to the central organizing committee. Some students are also going to have the opportunity to report the event acting as journalists for the day. The concert will start at 10:30am and will be a free event for every school deciding to attend.
