A Gozitan man who allegedly masturbated in a car while watching a 14-year-old girl walk by and then followed her home is pleading innocent to the charges.

Josef Pace, 21, of Kerċem pleaded not guilty in the Gozo court to defiling a minor.

The girl realised what he was doing when she passed by his car, which had a window open, sources said. Magistrate Paul Coppini refused to grant him bail and remanded him in custody.

Police Inspector Frank Tabone prosecuted.
