Marsa played touring team Milan CC over the past weekend.

On Friday, the locals won the toss and elected to bat first.

A superb innings from Andy Naudi, that yielded 48 runs, including three 4s and two 6s, propelled the home team to a fine score of 146 runs from 20 overs.

Nowell Khosla (30 runs) and Joy Ghoseroy (26) also contributed to the Marsa tally. For Milan, Sunil was the top wicket-taker with two.

In reply, Milan were coasting to victory with Sonu scoring 60 runs, Bhupi 28 and Sunil 21. They only required 27 runs from 24 balls with eight wickets in hand... it looked all over for Marsa.

Mike Caruana had other ideas though and he put a stop to the Milan run-rate, taking four wickets in his last two overs, leading Marsa to win by 12 runs.

On Saturday, Milan batted first and this time a fine innings of 71 from Bhupi helped his side to a total of 191 runs. Jonathan added 24 while Gautam and Sunil scored 19 each.

In reply, Marsa’s most formidable scores came from John Grima, 60, Dave Borg, 17, and a late 22 from Ronnie Sacco. The hosts only mustered 147 runs.

The final game, on Sunday, again had the Milan team batting first. This time Sonu made 55 runs, Vicky 35, Gautam 25 and Ross Gower 16 in an impressive and overwhelming score of 200 in the 35-over game.

Marsa only managed 151 runs in their reply with Joy Ghoseroy making 46 runs, Jim Heasman 31 and Andy Naudi 29.
