Family Minister Dolores Cristina told Parliament that 2,970 women were on the unemployment register last year.

She told Labour MP Helena Dalli that 1,378 were under the age of 25; 809 were between 25 and 39 and 656 were aged between 40 and 54. A total of 127 were 55 or older.

Of the total number registering, 399 found employment through the ETC.
