Five hurt in Paola crash, one seriously
A man was seriously injured in a collision involving two cars in Paola this evening. Another four persons were hurt.
The police said the crash took place at 7.45 p.m. at the junction of Sammat and Sant’Ubaldeska streets.
The injured man was driving the Maruti and was accompanied by a woman. Both are from Paola.
Three youths were in the other vehicle. All were hospitalised.

Dawk mohhom biex jaraw dawk li johorgu minn hdejn l-ICI (il-pompa ta quddiem il-Medistone).
Ahjar inehhu dik it-triq minn one-way ghax taf kemm jinqatgha traffic filghodu! Imma le, ipoggu l-pulizija u l-wardens biex iwaqqfu lil min johrog minn hemm (mhux qabel ma johrog ta imma wara) u jwaqqaf dawk li ikunu nezlin minn fejn ir-roundabout.
U ma tarax jiehdu hsieb dawk il-crossroads! Mela dawk jiggwadanjaw citazzjonijiet bhall-ohra!

In my view most of the 'jeep' type vehicles I have seen have virtually no safety gear, like airbags, (at least none for the passengers).
This is why there are more severe injuries when these 'jeep' type vehicles are involved in accidents - they may be 'cheap and cheerful' but they are also usually unsafe.

Bost talbiet saru kemm il darba mal-Kunsill Lokali ta' Raħal Ġdid sabiex Sammat Street issir triq one way. B'hekk jitnaqsu ħafna karozzi minn din it-triq dejqa ħafna li ma tiflaħx dk l-ammont fija. Forsi qed nistennew sakemm issir xi ħaġa għar qabel ma niccaqalqu!! Bħal dan l-incident saru bosta qabel u spiss! P B

Notwithstanding the fact the Local Council ignored numerous pleas to install speed bumps on the vicinity of the site since this spot is subject several similar incidents…. but I bet this is still yet not enough.
