Carlos Santana, one of the biggest rock guitar legends to ever hit the music scene, will be performing live in Malta accompanied by his full band on July 24.

News of the three-hour concert, which will be held on the Granaries in Floriana, was announced by NnG Promotions during a press conference held at the Vodafone outlet in Valletta.

During the concert, Santana is expected to be revisiting his magnificent catalogue of music, which features numerous popular classics that have thrilled generations of music lovers.

The Malta concert will be part of the Mexican artist’s Guitar Heaven 2011 Tour, and he will be accompanied by his full band.

NnG director Nigel Camilleri described Santana as undoubtedly one of the biggest names on the international scene.

“The appeal of his music cuts across generations, with top hits like Smooth, Put Your Light On, Corazon Espinado, Oyo Como Va, Black Magic Woman and many others, enjoying enduring popularity and making him one of the most followed artistes of our time,” he said.

Santana’s musical genius has also won him a number of awards, including nine Grammy awards for the album Supernatural which, along with subsequent releases Shaman, All That I Am and 2010’s Guitar Heaven, has been vital in resurrecting Santana’s worldwide popularity and significance.
