Healthy participation at Pegasus club events

The Pegasus Riding Club have just organised a series of dressage and show jumping ranking events, under the auspices of the Malta Equestrian Federation.

In dressage there were 27 riders in competition and for show jumping the entry list totalled 30.

Dressage events were categorised in various levels, starting from pre-preliminary going up to medium class. The show jumping classes varied from 50cm up to one metre.

In some instances, jump-offs were required after riders tied on equal points, making the competition even more exciting for both riders and those present to follow the proceedings at the Magħtab club.

These competitions are widely regarded as ideal training grounds for possible participation in the World Dressage Challenge.

Ugo Volpe, an Italian FEI official, was invited here by the Pegasus Riding Club to judge the competitions.

He was impressed by the improving standard of Maltese riders and the dedication and commitment shown during competitions.
