The French submarine Améthyste, which is operating off Libya, was in Maltese territorial waters earlier this week to disembark and embark personnel. With a crew of 68 men, the nuclear attack submarine had taken part in Operation Allied Force, the 1999 campaign in ex-Yugoslavia.

Dear c borg, since when do you believe anything politicians say or promise?

And how exactly do you propose to stop Gaddafi's massacre of civilians without resorting to military operations? You can't even placate him by sending him a box of Swiss chocolates because Libya boycotts Swiss goods since Gaddafi's son Hannibal had that infamous brush with Swiss police.

Welcome to the real world.

Yaaawn!! I think I heard this before......from KMB! Have you forgotten that Malta has ALREADY allowed two Libyan jets to land here? Did you protest then? The two jets (Gaddafi's 'toys') are being kept safe, and the pilots who came to take them away were not permitted to land. The best desicion taken. Had they been returned (probably if KMB was still our PM, God help us, he would have returned Gaddafi's toys to his boyfriend!), they would have been used to kill Libyans.
The airforces and navies using Malta's territorial waters and airspace are doing HUMANITARIAN work: stopping the madman from bombarding his OWN people! But is seems for you (or should I say KMB!), that Gaddafi is being 'victimised!
So, there's no need to swear, as by allowing a peacekeeping submarine in, does not mean that we are a military base! Had your hero (KMB), been in power, he would probably have preceded Uganda in offerring poor Gaddafi asylum.

G Borg what did you expect them to do shoot them down? Why didn't the submarine change crew outside our waters? This was done on purpose to violate our neutrality because it is a military vessel and should not have been allowed to do so in our waters. They could have done so in Sicily, Italy, Lampedusa etc because Italy is one of the countries conducting the war and not involve us.

May be you would have expect Malta to say that the maltese people are ONE FOR ALL, ALL FOR ONE with Libya. Grow up bro.
