Lampedusa’s fishermen blocking the entrance of the port with their boats yesterday to protest against the number of immigrants who land on the tiny island. The Italian government says more than 15,000 migrants have arrived on Lampedusa from Tunisia since the ouster of president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali in mid-January, including around 13,500 in the last 20 days alone.
