Obituary

ATKINS. On March 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMELINA née Ellul Bonici, widow of Chev. George Atkins, of San Pawl tat-Tarġa and residing at Pax et Bonum, Mosta, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Wednesday, at 8.15 a.m. for Naxxar parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.45 a.m., followed by interment at Naxxar Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza will be appreciated. The family would like to thank the Franciscan Sisters at Pax et Bonum for the care and dedication during the many years she spent there. Merciful Lord, grant her eternal rest.

BARTOLO. On March 24, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOE of Gżira, aged 65, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Rose, his son Johnny, his brothers and sisters, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2 p.m. for Gżira parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

BONNICI. On March 25, at Mater Dei Hospital, ĊENSINA of Valletta, member of the MUSEUM Society – St Paul Shipwrecked, aged 81, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sister, Sr Carmen of the Carmelite Order, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 9.30 a.m. for Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, Valletta, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CHANDER. On March 27, GOPAL, of Anusya Restaurant, passed away peacefully, mourned by his wife Anusya, his brother Ramprasad, his sister-in-law Parvathi, relatives and friends. The cortege leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 10 a.m. for the Addolorata Cemetery where a service will be held followed by interment. May he rest in peace.

DEBONO – THERESE, née Pace Moore, widow of Vincent, passed away on March 28, at the venerable age of 93, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughter Mary Rose, wife of John Deguara, John and his wife Anna, Susan, wife of Paul Enriquez, Margaret, wife of Henri Frendo, Michael and his wife Jane, Bernardette, wife of John Rausi and Anna, wife of Albert Cassar. She also leaves to mourn her loss her beloved grandchildren, their spouses and her great-grandchildren, her cousin Marion Pace Moore who was like a sister to her, besides many other relatives and friends. The funeral takes place today and leaves Casa Antonia, Balzan, at 1.15 p.m. Mass præsente cadavere will be said at Attard parish church at 2 p.m. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank all the staff of Casa Antonia Nursing Home for the devotion and care during the time she spent there. Sweet Jesus, grant her eternal rest.

On March 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH S. of Żurrieq, at the age of 90, ex-teacher and Assistant Head at Żurrieq boys’ primary, widower of Catherine, née Cachia, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Carmel and wife Dorothy, Joe and wife Ethel of Australia, Albert and wife Connie, Tony and wife Rita, Tessie, Richard and wife Josephine, Rita and husband Raymond Axisa, his grandchildren Robert and his wife Rachel Ellul Wain, Matthew, Michael and wife Meighan, Susan and husband Daniel Grima, Sandra, Dr Johanna Micallef Ellul and husband Neville Micallef, Stephen and wife Dr Nadya Cassar, Patrick and wife Sylvia, Christian and wife Julie, Noel, Maria and fiancé Michael Bonnici, Raphael Axisa, Robert Axisa, his great-grandchildren Rebecca, Ethan, Makayla, Vincent, Nathan, Jake, Miguel and Jade, his sister-in-law Ersilia, widow of his brother Saviour, several nephews and nieces, amongst whom Mr Ernest Ellul, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei hospital today at 3 p.m. for St Catherine’s parish church, Żurrieq, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m., followed by interment at St Leone Cemetery, Żurrieq. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

FITCH. On March 24, in Southampton, England, PEGGY, widow of Capt. N.F. Fitch and mother of the late Doreen Camilleri, at the age of 95. Deeply mourned by her son Robert, her son-in-law Michael Camilleri, her grandchildren Matthew, James, Thomas in England, Nick in Malta, and their families. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GALEA NAUDI. On March 28, at Charella Residential Home, Sliema, JOAN, aged 75, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church.Funeral arrangemets will be announced later. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Requiem Mass

Today being the 24th anniversary of the death of MARIKA NAUDI, née Hili, a Mass for the repose of her soul will be said at 6.30 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception parish church, Tal-Ibraġ, St Andrew’s. The attendance of relatives and friends will be appreciated.

In Memoriam

AGIUS. Loving and treasured memories of our dear father PETER and our dear mother VIOLET who were called to their heavenly home on April 5, 1990 and on March 27, 2003 respectively. Fondly remembered by their daughters and sons, Margaret, Mary, Evelyn, Joe, Alfred and Sylvia and their spouses, their 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
