A man wanted for murder in Italy appeared before Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna this morning for an extradition decision.

An extradition order for Giuseppe Lauretta, 42, was issued by the Court of Novara, after which a European arrest warrant was issued.

Mr Lauretta, who is wanted for the murder of businessman Ettore Marcoli in January last year, was arrested in Malta. He told the court this morning he was accepting to be extradited.

Magistrate Apap Bologna put off his final decision to Monday.
