Letterman triumphs at Comedy Awards

David Letterman, Tina Fey and Modern Family are among the laugh-getters honoured at the first annual Comedy Awards.

Alec Baldwin of 30 Rock and Kristen Wiig of Saturday Night Live won for best comedy actor and actress in television during the awards ceremony.

Tina Fey of Date Night and Zach Galifianakis of Dinner for Schmucks were awarded best comedy actress and actor in film.

Modern Family received the award for best comedy series, while The Other Guys was named best comedy film.

David Letterman received the highest honour as recipient of the Johnny Carson Award for Comedic Excellence.
