Malta walks for water

SOS Malta has launched the ‘Malta Walks for Water’ campaign to mark World Water Day, which was celebrated last Tuesday.

The campaign aims to raise money for schools and rural villages in developing countries, to provide them with water storage tanks, a well, boreholes and a rainwater collection system.

As well as reducing the risk of waterborne disease, this will ensure children do not miss lessons in order to walk long distances to the nearest well, which is often several kilometres away.

The Malta Walks for Water website has been set up to facilitate donations. Visit www.maltawalksforwater.org for more information.
