Betfair, the world’s largest betting community and one of the most established operating in Malta, has been recognised for the Largest Breakthrough Project at the iSix Sigma’s Summit and Awards in Miami.

Three Betfair projects were nominated in two separate categories.

Befair employee Lewis Holland’s project ‘Increase Spanish outbound contact and conversion rate’ scooped the highest possible project honour on the night, and was awarded the Largest Breakthrough Improvement Project in the Transactional category.

iSix Sigma, the world’s leading publisher and content provider for the Six Sigma community, received nearly 30 nominations from around the world.

A team of certified continuous improvement experts used a systematic and structured process to evaluate the entries.

Six Sigma is a measurement standard adopted by hundreds of companies around the world as a way of doing business that strives for near perfection.

It is rooted in statistics and statistical mathematics.

Mr Holland was mentored by Antoine Bonello of the Betfair process improvement team and sponsored by Natasha Swanston.

Among other improvements, the project introduced an outbound campaign through which new customers received a call within hours of registration.

Statistical analysis was also used to determine the best calling time to maximise conversion.
