Malta coach John Buttigieg is confident that his team will give a good performance tomorrow against a Greece team which he described as one of the favourites to qualify for the Euro 2012 finals.

In tomorrow’s qualifier Malta plays against Greece at 8.30 p.m. at the national stadium.

Mr Buttigieg told a news conference this morning that the Maltese team has prepared well over the past month and a half, despite the training allowance issue. The players, he said, were focused on their preparation for this game.

On Roderick Briffa, who has missed the last two games for Valletta with injury, the coach said the player was fit and could play against Greece.

Malta captain Michael Mifsud said he was positive Malta would give a good performance.

He stressed the boost players received from the crowd and urged people to attend and give their support to the Maltese team.

In their last outing, Malta drew 0-0 with Switzerland in a friendly match played last month.
