Benitez dreams of Liverpool return
Rafael Benitez has admitted he dreams of one day returning to Liverpool as manager following his departure last year.
The Spaniard had a disappointing end to his six-year reign at Anfield, with Liverpool failing to qualify for the Champions League.
Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish is currently acting as caretaker manager at the club, and is expected to be given the job on a permanent basis.
However Benitez, who left Inter Milan after only half a season, remains a popular figure on Merseyside and would jump at the chance to return to Anfield.
"I am really proud of being the manager of Liverpool Football Club and I would like to come back in the future," Benitez told Sky Sports News.
"You never know (when) because Kenny is doing a really good job. It's a question of time. You never know in the future.
"It would be a dream. I would be really pleased to come back in the future."
Benitez said while he would consider other jobs in England, he would never manage Liverpool's biggest rivals such as Everton and Manchester United.
"Fans in Liverpool know the teams I would not go (to) but I think these clubs wouldn't offer me a job.
"I'm a professional but obviously some clubs I would not go to, especially the big rivals of Liverpool. I won't say the names, but it's not difficult!"

In line with Mr Benitez's comments regarding managing Everton, I would just like to go on record as stating I would never contemplate an intimate moment with Kylie Minogue, Carla Bruni or that girl in the Berlusconi 'Bunga Bunga' incident. Sorry ladies.

Dream on Rafa.....
You managed to mess up Inter`s chances of winning the 6th consecutive title in Italy. That note will remain on you CV i`m afraid.
There is no room for heart matters when it comes to business and football is business. You left Liverpool for the money and fame offered by a solid team (Inter) so what is holding you to manage other British teams. I guess you were right in that they will surely not offer you a job so why mention that you would not go ? Paroli fil vojt........
You are just marketing yourself back to the LPL fans in saying you would not manage their rivals. You must be desperate mann....

if you still think the CL win against Milan was all merit of Benitez, then you don't know your football. It was a Houllier team and all merit should go to him. As for Liverpool winning trophies, their best now bet is entering the Eurovision Song Contest with your Never Walk Alone. Although Celtic may have to say something about that.

And you think Mr. Benitez that Man United will ever require your service? Thanks anyway we have a mega manager and we will not be looking for a part timer after his retirement!

I would love to see Benitez return to Liverpool to complete his task of making them a Championship side. They should do quite well in a lower division..

an Everton fan calling Liverpool a Championship side? thumbs up... you should look at the mirror more often...
Rafa managed to reach two champions leagues finals (and another semi final), fa cup final, world club cup final, league cup final, league runners up.... and had to compete with the riches of united, chelsea and man city. since kenny dalglish, Rafa was the best manager ever since the 1990!!

Everton FC, Liverppool's neighbours who will finish above you in the Premier League - without forking out 35 million on an unknown quantity.
