Fire-fighters this afternoon quickly controlled a fire on a farm near Zabbar which produced a thick cloud of smoke seen over a wide area.

People on the scene said a quantity of wood on top of a structure on the farm had caught fire.

Three fire-engines were deployed by the Civil Protection Department. No one was injured.
