MEA appeals for an end to industrial action at Enemalta

The Malta Employers’ Association has called for an immediate end to industrial action at Enemalta.

The Association stated that the dispute has been taken to the Industrial Tribunal and there is no point in disrupting the operations of Enemalta at this stage.

“The actions are having a negative impact on third parties who are not involved in the dispute, as the suspension of pending applications for services for commercial entities is affecting many businesses and job creation,” it said. The MEA added that the disruptions caused by these actions are disproportionate to the issue which has instigated the General Workers’ Union to take industrial action.

Last week the Chamber of Commerce issued a similar appeal for the industrial action at Enemalta to end.
