The GWU has called for a meeting in the first week of April of the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development (MCESD) to discuss fuel prices.
The union recalled that the social partners had agreed that a report on the impact of the latest fuel prices is to be completed by the end of this month.
The union said the report should also consider increases in the prices of other basic items.
It recalled that the MCESD had already agreed that compensation would be given on the basis of the impact found in the report. The union said its attention would not be deflected from the people's real needs.
