Malta U-21 coach Ray Farrugia yesterday evening named his 18-man squad for Friday’s friendly against Montenegro at the Hibs Stadium (kick-off 6 p.m.).

Hibernians trio Jean Paul Farrugia, Steve Pisani and Bjorn Kristensen, Sliema Wanderers midfielder Mark Scerri and Jesus Camilleri, of Rabat Ajax, are all ruled out of the match by injuries.

Friday’s warm-up is the first official home match for Malta Under 21 since Farrugia and Ronald Vella, his assistant, took charge of the team last January.

The friendly is part of the squad’s build-up for the 2013 UEFA European Championship qualifiers.
