SKOP, the national platform of non-governmental development organisations, in collaboration with Fondazzjoni Ceratonia and the US Embassy, recently organised a film festival at Europe House to mark the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day. Sisters in Law, a film depicting the lives of women in the small town of Kumba, Cameroon, was screened during the event.

This was followed by a presentation by US Embassy consular chief Tracy Brown. Ms Brown, who is an anthropologist and who has worked in countries like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, and who was recently the leader of the team that evacuated people from Libya, highlighted the role of women as care-givers and leaders simultaneously.
