Belated Christmas cheer for SPCA
Chris Caruana Turner, Sue Simons and Carlos Cluett.
Red October of Qormi recently donated money raised from Christmas hampers to the SPCA Homing Centre.
Red October chairman Chris Caruana Turner and managing director Carlos Cluett presented the cheque for €680 to the SPCA’s Sue Simons at the SPCA Home in Floriana.
The money will go towards medicines and food for the 226 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies that are presently at the SPCA Home at St Francis Ravelin, Floriana. It costs €5 a day to feed and care for each cat and dog.
The SPCA is fundraising to build a bigger homing centre as the doors to the home have now been shut for several months and no more stray and abandoned cats and dogs can be brought in.
The public is invited to visit the SPCA to see the animals in need of a home. All dogs and cats are neutered, microchipped, inoculated and health-checked before being re-homed. All cats are litter-trained.
