Marriages
Dr ANDRÉ BUTTIGIEG, LL.D. and Ms ANNALISE GAUCI BORDA, MA, BA (Hons.), LLCM
The marriage took place on March 12, at St Aloysius College church, Birkirkara, between ANDRÉ, son of Mr and Mrs Anthony Buttigieg of Tal-Ibraġ, and ANNALISE, daughter of Mr and Mrs Edward Gauci Borda of St Venera. Fr John Scicluna, SJ, assisted by Fr Charles Delia, SJ, officiated at the ceremony. Ms Stefania Buttigieg and Mr Kevin Galea were witnesses. Mr Godwin Sant was best man. The bride was attended by Ms Christine Cassar, Ms Simone Inguanez and Dr Erica Cini. Mr Ainsley Cassar and Architect Alexis Inguanez acted as ushers. A reception was afterwards held at Villa Arrigo, Naxxar. The couple are spending their honeymoon in France.
Obituary
DEBONO. On March 19, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH (Il-Kaptan), aged 83, of Valletta, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss Ċettina, widow of his brother Salvu, his nephews and nieces Maria, Joseph, Louis, Frans, John, Maria and Nancy, their spouses and children, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday at 7.30 a.m. for St Dominic church, Valletta, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
DREW. On March 18, at her residence in St Julian’s, JULIANA, aged 86, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Stanley John, her children Ann and her husband John Chetcuti and Pauline and her husband Paul Busuttil, her grandchildren Mark and his girlfriend Melanie, Brian and his girlfriend Annalise, Richard and William and his girlfriend Lisa, her great-grandson Jack, her sister Stella Agius, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Our Lady of Mount Carmel church,Balluta, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Qrendi cemetery. She leaves to mourn her irreparable loss her dearly beloved husband Emanuel, her children Henry and his wife Margaret, née Griffiths, Muriel and her husband David Poole, Angela and her husband Victor Pace, Alfred and his wife Antoinette née Leone Ganado, Joseph, Robert and his wife Tania née Spiteri, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brothers and sisters and their spouses, in-laws, her nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. On the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the passing away of Fr JOSEPH M. GALDES, SJ, the 9.30 a.m. Mass in English at the church of St Aloysius’ College, Birkirkara on Sunday, March 27, 2011, will be offered in thanksgiving for his life. Blood donation
The mobile blood donation unit will be available next to the pastoral centre in Ninu Cremona Square, Iklin, today from 8.30 a.m. till 1.30 p.m. If you feel healthy, bring your ID card and donate blood.
