Man admits raping partner

A 42-year-old electrician from Valletta has been remanded in custody after he admitted to raping his 46-year-old former partner, defiling her 13-year-old daughter and violently and indecently assaulting her 23-year-old daughter.

He was also charged with relapsing.

The case was heard behind closed doors and the judgement has been deferred to April 18.

Defence lawyers Jose Herrera and Veronique Dalli asked for a pre-sentencing report to be drawn up.

Police inspector Jesmond Borg also asked for the man to be given any necessary psychiatric treatment.
