Photographers Martin Abela and Stephen Busuttil were among a group of professionals chosen to exhibit their work in Italy during a week of photographic training and public exhibitions organised by FIOF, Italy’s professional photographic association, to coincide with Italy’s Notte Bianca celebration.
The events were blessed with sunshine that fuelled excitement among the delegates, locals and tourists alike who came out to enjoy the works of art on display at various venues during the week-long exhibition.
Both Mr Abela and Mr Busuttil are Fellows of Photography accredited internationally including QIP and together share over 40 years of work experience. For the event, their work was submitted from their personal portfolios. Mr Abela chose to feature work from his Maltese Faces project that includes a book entitled Uċuh, while Mr Busuttil submitted a selection of black and white images from his international award-winning Malta Police Force collection.
Mr Abela is the first Maltese to achieve a QIP accreditation and has been an active participant in Italy’s premiere photographic community for over 12 years. He was also invited to lecture during the event.
FIOF, Italy’s professional photographic association, has also featured both Mr Abela and Mr Busuttil in several of their high-quality hardcover books produced to showcase the work of photographers who have achieved the QIP accreditation.
