The Court this afternoon gave the go-ahead for oil tanker Mubariz Ibrahimov to leave Malta after surveyor Aldo Abela certified that all its tanks were empty.

Libyans in Malta yesterday filed a warrant of prohibitory injunction to prevent the ship from leaving, claiming it was taking an oil shipment to the Libyan regime.

Judge Abigail Lofaro said she saw the surveyor’s report Aldo Abela, which showed that the ship’s tanks were all empty. This meant that the tanker would not be leaving Malta with fuel as had been claimed by the Libyans. The Court said it felt it should not go into any other legal matter.
