Spring has finally arrived in London and with it comes the capital’s newest luxury hotel, London Syon Park, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel in West London. Today the hotel opened and welcomed its first guests – 1,000 butterflies set to live in the hotel’s Butterfly House, situated in the lobby.

The guests are exotic butterfly species originating from all over the world, and as far as South America, including the colourful Passion Flower, Zebra Longwing and The Red Postman.

Each day the 1,000 butterflies experience room service as Martin Willis, London Syon Park’s dedicated butterfly keeper and !concierge”, serves them fresh banana, pear, orange and water. Mr Willis takes care of their every need on a daily basis.

The Butterfly House feature is inspired by Syon Park’s renowned butterfly house that was once situated there. The theme has also inspired the hotel’s distinctive branding, along with other themes throughout hotel concept, such as the spa named Kallima after the Greek word “beautiful” and a butterfly which resembles a closed leaf at first and is transformed when opening its wings.

London Syon Park is a smart, stylish new-build property with 137 guest rooms, bringing together a modern luxury hotel experience and the heritage of the Grade I listed Syon House estate, where it is situated. Set in 200 acres of beautiful parkland (owned by the Duchy of Northumberland for the past 400 years and to this day) just seven miles from Hyde Park Corner and seven miles from Heathrow Terminal 5, London Syon Park provides a tranquil country retreat on the outskirts of London town.
