More than 100 delegates attended the launch of Malta’s first chapter of Business Network International, the world’s largest and most successful business referral organisation.
At the launch, which was held at The Palace, delegates learned how the BNI phenomenon began in California 25 years ago and subsequently expanded into 47 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. The first chapter, named the Verdala Chapter after Grandmaster Verdala, will now be holding weekly meetings at The Palace every Tuesday at 7 a.m. Through these meetings, BNI helps its members find new business through referrals. There are also training programmes in public speaking, giving presentations and networking skills – all vital skills for businesspeople.
David Bullock, who has over 12 years’ experience in establishing and running BNI chapters within the UK and South Africa, has been instrumental in bringing this international organisation to Malta.
“We have seen strong interest from the local business community who can see the value of forming strong networks to help their companies grow and develop. The first chapter has been launched with a core group of dedicated individuals who are already seeing the benefits that BNI can bring to their business.”
Each BNI chapter only admits one representative of each trade or profession, thereby providing that member with exclusivity in their area of expertise.
“We are looking to continue to grow our current core chapter,” Jankarl Farrugia, the Verdala Chapter’s president explained, “and are seeing considerable demand for places. The Palace has provided us with excellent hospitality and thus has been chosen to house our first chapter. As our membership grows we shall be continuing to open chapters in new locations as well.” Businesspeople interested in the concept are invited to attend one of BNI’s weekly meetings to learn more about how BNI can help their business grow.
Those interested in attending an upcoming BNI meeting can contact Jankarl Farrugia on 9999 3198, or email him at Jankarl.Farrugia@regus.com.
