Public consultation on the pensions' reform based on a report prepared by a purposely set up working group was officially launched this morning during a meeting of the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development.

Education Minister Dolores Cristina said the pensions reform implemented in 2006 obliged the government to strategically revise the system every five years, with the first revision scheduled for the end of last year.

The process will include meetings and public discussions as well as other activities.

Consultation continues until May 31.

All related documentation is accessible at www.pensionsreform.gov.mt .

Formal submissions and questions should be sent to the working group at pensionsreform@gov.mt .
