Only logical to ban separation as well

Some people are of such a mindset they are incapable of clear thinking on the issue of divorce.
It is not the fault of the state that a marriage breaks down. It is the result of the incompatibility of a couple to continue with their life together.
There are several causes I need not go into but it is definitely not the fault of the state. What the state does is to either separate the couple or achieve the same practical effect by granting a divorce. If the state has a duty to avoid a marriage break-up, legislation should ensure that reconciliation machinery is set up. It also must ensure proof is presented that the marriage has irretrievably broken down.
Since both legal separation and divorce have the same practical effects, it would be logical for the people who argue against divorce to also argue that neither legal step should be available.
One wonders, therefore, how those against divorce never protested against the “evil” of legal separation. If they must cite Scripture to oppose divorce then they should also be against legal separation.
Adrian Vassallo MP, who invokes the will of the Lord to support his stance against divorce, is in a position to draft a Private Members’ Bill to abolish legal separation. If he did so he would be very much acting logically and practically.
