The police have discovered a package containing 100 grammes of mephedrone, (Meow Meow), addressed to a foreign couple who were charged with drug trafficking and remanded in custody last Sunday.

Rodney Andrew Molt, 24, of Huntsville, Alabama, and Ana-Maria Beatrice Ciocanel, 22, of Bucharest, who live in Attard, were arrested when a package containing mephedrone and addressed to their apartment was found by Customs Officials on Friday.

The package had arrived by air from Prague.

The police later found what they suspected to be ecstasy and cocaine at their apartment.

The police said this morning that further investigations led them to find another package containing more than 100 grammes of mephedrone addressed to the couple at a post office branch.

Magistrate Conuelo Scerri Herrera is holding an inquiry.
