Work on Vittoriosa waterfront hotel picks up

What about the misery that fort Saint Angelo is in. It is in the worse state that I ever rimember it, I tought that taking it from the hands of the British Navy would be a positive move but I would say that the fortification was in a much better state under the British than under Malta Government or any private entity that it is now. What a shame such a beatyful fortification is falling bits and pieces day after day. There have been so much bla bla bla but the results of such 'paroli fil-vojt' can be seen. See the Piano project, ahhh it was taken seriously and is going on in a steady pace, why not see the urgency of this magnificent fortification before the damage gets wores and more complicated. Veru dan pajjiez tal-Micky mouse. What we have with so much history we set aside and instead we spent money on project no welcomed by the voters.

I agree that the block of flats right next to Fort St. Angelo is a disgrace. It is shocking that permits were given for that. Is it possible that people can get away with such things?

I really hope this so called "5 star hotel" would be really of 5 star standard. There are only two or three hotels that really deserve a 5 star rating in Malta!!

Regretfully the complex of apartments further down the road has ruined the aesthetics of the entire area.It is inconceivable how MEPA approved such a ghastly contruction.Hopefully the hotel will somehow improve the situation.

Work on the hotel has indeed picked up in contrast to work on the jewel next door (fort St. Angelo.)
The hotel will be built in harmony with the architecture of the area hopefully not like the monstrosity erected next to the fort some years ago.
The €18 million project spearheaded by the Port Cottonera consortium formed another link in the regeneration of the area.
Perhaps when the hotel is finished the consortium could find the time to restore that part of the bastions partaining to fort St. Michael in Senglea just above the macina.

i hope honestly ,,, that this isdone in a better way than that block of luxury apartments on the other side of vittoriosa...... a total blasphemy. absolutely horrendous when you look at it from valletta as well.
