I have recently returned from an idyllic three-week visit to Malta. For most of those three weeks the weather was excellent with just the odd drop of rain and on one day, some wind!
I noticed much building work progressing and hope that the finished product will look as great as the projections. I do hope that a little more attention is paid to the finishing touches than usually happens. Marsaxlokk looks good and will look even better when completed. I am disappointed that the stalls have been permitted to clutter the front though. It wouldn’t be so bad if they were all just positioned on the promenade close to the road, facing the harbour, rather than on both sides, tying their stall covers to the newly placed benches rendering many of them unusable while covering the new paved area with huge building blocks and buckets of set cement to help keep the covers on. That is a shame.
With some exceptions, I was treated very well. The Maltese are a very friendly people and Malta is a great little country. Maybe it could be looked after a little better with less rubbish dumping and some more tidying up.
