Students’ debate
A debate was held last Wednesday for students to discuss the recent events in the Arab world. The event was organised by Matthew Mizzi and Insite at the University’s Greek Theatre. It served as a place to discuss the role of Maltese students in light of fundamental change in the world.

Debating is a lovely activity which teaches us not to behave like Gaddafi does.
I wish to congratulate the above debating session. I would like to offer my congratulations to the semi finalists and the finalists and the organisers of the debating competition of the 6th forms, which took place last Wednesday at St James Cavallier at Valletta. The final motion was ," that the Internet had to be regulated," with De La Salle College winning.
I had the honour to be invited with my family and contributed from the floor my bit to encourage the students At university I spent over eight years(Newcastle)and I must have attended those debates every Saturday for the whole eight years and rowing and dancing occassionally thorough the weeks.I was so poor but so happy,to have taken such an active part atUniversity. I was also President of the Engineering Society and we took part in Rag weeks to collect money for the poor, I was poor but did not get any of the gatherings!. Our Students at University are relatively very lazy and all they do is to learn by heart long extracts of copy and paaste to pass examinations. That is not education.
