The Seashells Resort at Suncrest registered an eight-year summer occupancy record last year.

The four-star Seashells Resort at Suncrest, has re-opened following a €500,000 revamp undertaken during the pre-planned winter closure.

AX Hotels, the owner of the 450-room Qawra resort, undertook a programme of improvements and maintenance which would have been difficult had guests occupied the resort.

A number of offers, events and opportunities are earmarked for the short-term, aimed at increasing high quality guest numbers.

AX Hotels said summer bookings had already been secured well in advance as the resort will continue to pursue its all-inclusive strategy.

Last September, AX Hotels’ hospitality director Claire Zammit Xuereb said the resort had registered an eight-year summer occupancy record in 2010. With a summer average occupancy at 87 per cent, the property, which launched its resort package 18 months ago, had proved it switched to the budget holiday model at the right time.
