Malta-headquartered trade finance institution Fimbank plc has appointed three new vice- presidents .
Mircea Corneliu Frasineanu has joined the bank as first vice-president and project manager, factoring joint ventures, from Bucharest-based Benefica S.A, where he was deputy general manager. A Romanian, he has previously held posts at Raffeisen Bank, Demir Bank, Bankcoop and the Manufacturers Hanover Trust of the Chemical Bank (Chase Manhattan Corporation).
Portuguese-born António Alberto Messias Salgueiro has been appointed first vice-president and head, Mediterranean factoring. His 25-year career spans top Lusitanian financial institutions, including Banco Português do Atlântico, S.A., Heller Factoring Portuguesa S.A., the Valentim de Carvalho Group, as well as Eurofactor Portugal – Sociedade de Factoring S.A., where he was client and operations manager before joining Fimbank.
Mr Salgueiro’s career reflects a bias for factoring which has shown considerable growth in Portugal over the past 10 years.
Karim Kadar has been named vice-president within Fimbank’s corporate and institutional banking department. He joins from Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, where he was head of the structured trade finance business department.
Mr Kadar had spent five years as head of trade finance at Afrinvest in London, where he managed all aspects of an oil and gas portfolio. He has extensive experience as an international banker with responsibilities in corporate banking and fund management with the Union National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Fidelity Bank and Merrill Lynch.
