Emanuel Balzan, a singer known as Tristan B, was yesterday given a suspended jail term after he admitted to defrauding a man of €1,500 in November 2009.

The 33-year-old has another five pending court cases, including one case where he stands charged with defrauding two companies of €70,000. The other cases also involve fraud as well as falsification of documents.

Magistrate Anthony Vella yesterday handed down a two-year jail term suspended for four years after hearing his guilty plea.

Police Inspector Maurice Curmi prosecuted.

Lawyer José Herrera and legal procurator Noel Bianco appeared for Mr Balzan.
