Brothers fined for animal cruelty
Two brothers were yesterday found guilty of animal cruelty after four horses, a pony, sheep and a monkey were found in unhygienic conditions at their farm in Kalkara.
Francis, 34, and Elton Bowell, 35, were arraigned after the condition at their farm was noticed by animal welfare officers. They also noticed the animals had no water and no adequate shelter against the elements.
Magistrate Anthony Vella fined the men €466 each.

@ Joseph Dimech: Your sarcasm is out of place. You jolly well know that the death penalty is out, in civilised country; not even for the worst crimes against human beings. So you don't believe that there should be stiffer fines for crimes against animals; fine with me. But it should be equally fine with you, buster, that I think there should be stiff fines for people who show off the fact that they belong to the 10th century! Before Christ!

Shame on justice. Animal cruelty must be highly condemned and penalties should be higher for any type of cruelty on any animal.
